What is an ActiveX Control?

An ActiveX control is a self contained program that can incorporated into and be used by another program.

For example, if you were building a car, you could either design and build an engine or just go out and buy a pre-assembled engine.  In this example, the engine is analogous to an ActiveX control.

Which development environments will QuickStart work with?

QuickStart will work most Microsoft Windows based development environments including:

•     Microsoft Visual C++
•     Microsoft Visual Basic
•     Borland Delphi

What is the difference between TXL 2000 and QuickStart?

TXL 2000 is a complete user application.  Simply install it and start sending information to your Datawall Displays.

QuickStart is a tool to be used by a person developing an application that needs to send information to a Datawall Display.  If you or your firm are not writing a custom application, QuickStart is not for you.

What are the system requirements for QuickStart?

We recommend the following minimum system to take develop with/use QuickStart:

• Pentium 90
• 64MB RAM
• 1MB Available Disk Space
• Available Serial Port
• Microsoft Windows 95 or newer
